Star Host Whittier Vocational HS Carpentry Seniors

On May 12, 2021 Star Construction Company hosted the Whittier  Vocational HS senior class carpenters at it’s Plum Island job site. Bob Williams of Star Construction Company, Inc. said it was a delight to see the 11 students and their teacher  Mike Sandlin visit to job site. The students  interacted with us and each other, asking plenty of questions and really showed interest in the carpentry aspect of the remodeling business.

These opportunities are the result of Star’s participation as an advisory board  member of the Whittier Carpentry program as well as, being a representative of Professional Remodeler Organization of New England (PRO NE) Workforce Development Committee and  Eastern Mass. Natl. Assoc. of the Remodeling Industry (EM NARI).

We look forward to offering this opportunity to others trade schools in our area as well when the opportunity presents itself.

These students are the ones that will be building and repairing your homes  in the future. It’s great to see their enthusiasm and respect for the methods and materials that were employed on our job site.

We had a chance to introduce the students to some new to the market products that we are using in the project and how they are used, applied and why.  Student also got a real world look at an operating remodeling construction job site some for the first time.

We hope we were able to show them how rewarding a career remodeling can be. We did get to tell them about working condition and benefits as well as pay scale that our company offers. We look forward to seeing their talent on project through out the area in the near future. Even if it working for our competitors.
