Skilled Basement Remodeling
If you’re considering taking on a home remodeling project and you have an unfinished basement, you have a perfect canvas to create a space customized to your needs, wants, and style. Unfinished basements take up square footage in your home that can be used to add value to your property and expand your livable space without requiring an exterior addition. They can be transformed into offices, extra bedrooms, entertainment areas, and more – the only limit is your mind.
However, basement renovations can be challenging due to the unique issues basements face. You want to be sure your basement is water- and mold-resistant, that you have enough lighting, that the wiring is in place for heating and more. That’s why it’s important to hire a skilled contracting company like Star Construction. With over 40 years of construction experience, we can help you turn your basement into a space you’ll love for a lifetime.
Finished Weston Basement
For this Weston basement, we used Wahoo Wall to create a professional, finished look. Wahoo Wall is a panelized system that consists of 3.5-inch rigid foam insulation wrapped in a magnesium oxide board, making it water-resistant, mold-resistant, durable, and easy to install. It’s also channeled every 16 inches for wiring and provides a continuous insulation system around the basement. Using the Wahoo Wall allowed us to easily customize our client’s basement layout to their specifications. We also worked to ensure that everything outside the Wahoo Wall was also resistant to moisture by using PVC trim, water-resistant flooring, and more. Our goal was to provide our clients with a beautiful basement that, even in the event of a disaster, wouldn’t have to be torn out and rebuilt like it would have to be if traditional building materials were used. Our client was very happy with their finished basement space and enjoyed the professional style and customization offered to them.
