High-Quality Basement Refinishing for Your Growing Family
One of the more dramatic renovations we’ve completed in Byfield was converting this unfinished basement into a fully usable office space and laundry room. The homeowners were expecting a new addition to their family, and as parents-to-be, they knew they would soon need more space, not to mention easy access to the washer and dryer!
By moving this Byfield home’s 275-gallon oil tank and water heater into closets, we were able to open up the basement and provide access to the windows to bring in more light.
We also leveraged new materials (Wahoo Wall Panels) to ensure that the space remained moisture-resistant. We covered the walls with a waterproof basement finishing system and used PVC baseboard trim to keep the walls and the wiring behind inside them entirely impervious to flooding. We also wrapped the existing Lally column and relocated the washer and dryer into a closet with a folding door to give the space a polished, finished look.
All in all, it was a great chance to give a new family a fresh start with a revamped home—exactly the kind of project we love to take on here at Star Construction!
