Whole-Home Remodeling

Whole-home remodel with an open kitchen and living area

A whole-home remodel can improve the way a house functions, looks, and supports the people living in it. These projects may involve reworking several rooms at once, improving circulation, updating major building systems, or adapting an older home to better meet current and future needs.

Star Remodeling works with homeowners on substantial renovations that may include kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, additions, structural changes, accessibility improvements, exterior work, and updates to plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and insulation.

Building on a remodeling legacy that began in 1958, our team coordinates the planning, design, and construction details required to bring multiple parts of the home together into a cohesive project.

A First-Floor Renovation in Newburyport

New deck completed as part of a whole-home renovation in Newburyport, Massachusetts

This Newburyport project involved a substantial renovation of a home located near the mouth of the Merrimack River. The scope included reconfiguring the first floor, replacing windows, building a new deck, updating major building systems, and addressing an existing machine-shop space below the residence.

The new deck created direct access to the side yard and allowed the homeowners to make better use of the property’s river views.

Inside, we relocated and redesigned the kitchen to create a more open and functional first-floor layout. Because portions of the existing floor system felt flexible, structural steel was added to improve stiffness and support the remodeled space.

The project also included a new HVAC system, electrical and plumbing work, additional insulation, refinished and new hardwood flooring, and a redesigned bathroom with a barrier-free shower and comfort-height toilet.

In the former machine-shop area, our team addressed gas piping and electrical equipment and separated the space from the living areas so it could be cleaned out and adapted for future use.

Whole-Home Design and Planning

Whole-home remodeling requires careful coordination because changes in one part of the house can affect other rooms and systems. Structural conditions, floor plans, mechanical systems, electrical capacity, plumbing, insulation, windows, accessibility, permitting, and finish selections may all need to be considered together.

Star Remodeling coordinates with architects, designers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and municipal officials as required by the project. We emphasize clear scope development, thoughtful planning, and communication throughout the construction process.

Projects of this scale typically require a Design & Planning Agreement before reliable fixed pricing can be prepared. This phase may include design development, existing-condition review, selections, structural planning, permitting requirements, and detailed scope definition.
